Miguel Rivière (trainee Febr.-April 2015)

Concerning my background, I have been studying forestry at AgroParisTech-ENGREF (Nancy, France) as part of a Master in forest engineering. In order to get some international experience, I have spent a year abroad, studying mainly forest policy and sustainable development in the Swedish University of Life Sciences (Uppsala, Sweden) and working as a research intern in forest ecology at the university of Waikato (Hamilton, New-Zealand)
I am now taking the MSc Erasmus Mundus “European Forestry”, which gives me the opportunity to study in different countries and focus on the international aspect of forestry. I am quite interested in forest governance, valuation of forest ecosystem services, and I also enjoy nature conservation issues. Outside of the office, my main interest is history.
During my time in CTFC, I will be dealing with the socio-economic aspects of mushroom picking regulation in Catalonia, in the framework of the StarTree project.
